Inuit Goggles - The Sled
Inuit Goggles - The Sled
Sharpness and smoothness making love, The Sled goes straight to the point. The thinnest model of goggles ever designed.
To go straight to the roots of the snow population, its unique slit through which to see is one of a kind and reminiscent of the type of Inuit goggles used by Knud Rasmussen during his legendary Fifth Thule Expedition.
This historical journey mapped the Arctic and documented the life of Inuit communities, revealing their ingenious adaptation to the harshest conditions.
Each piece is one-of-a-kind and meticulously hand-refined by Italian artisans.
Our 3D Printed Inuit Goggles are the contemporary homage to the first pair of sunglasses ever created by the human species.
Crafted with the spirit of innovation, these goggles are a modern interpretation of the ancient Inuit eyewear known as ilgaak (ᐃᓪᒑᒃ) in Inuktitut and Nigaugek in Central Yupik, used for centuries by the indigenous peoples of the Arctic to protect against the blinding glare of the sun on snow.
Our goggles are designed and made in Italy with a deep respect for this heritage, merging the timeless wisdom of Inuit craftsmanship with cutting-edge 3D printing technology. The result is a durable, lightweight frame that carries the essence of Inuit ingenuity into the present day.
